First Home Owner’s Boost will end 30 June, 2017!

First home buyers in Western Australia will lose access to a $5000 grant boost six months early as the McGowan government continues to crack down on spending.

Treasurer Ben Wyatt said on Wednesday the $10,000 first home buyers grant would still be available for homes worth up to $750,000, but the additional boost wouldn’t be on offer to buyers entering contracts after June 30.

Cutting the measure, which was announced by the former Barnett government in December, would save about $20 million in the forward estimates, he added.
